(More customer reviews)As a happy owner of two other Asus machines, I started my search for a new laptop with a brand I thought I could trust. At first, I liked everything about this machine. Unfortunately, after a few hours of using it, I noticed that my head was hurting and realized that I was hearing a high-pitch noise coming from inside the laptop. In doing some research on-line, it appears that this is a VERY common problem with this class of machines.
It also appears that this is a problem with some other manufacturer's i3 and i5 laptops, as well, so it may very well be an Intel problem and not an Asus problem. For me (and apparently for others), the problem appeared most pronounced when using Google Chrome and iTunes. Unforunately, this is a deal-breaker for me because I can't stand high-pitched noises and I want to use Chrome and iTunes. So, I'm returning this one to Amazon and will start my search over again. I guess I'm going to have to head to a brick and mortar to see if I can test drive Chrome and iTunes on a laptop before I buy it.
