(More customer reviews)I will cut to the chase. Purchased this k72f-b1 2-19-11 after exhaustive research. Followed all set up procedures to the tee. Bottom line is most parts
worked but it's performance sucked web browsing which is mainly what I use a computer for. I have a 10 year old apple with the old motorola processor
and that had 10X the connect speed as this with the identical cable connection using online speed web sites to compare. Skype will not work with this
computer. Tried all kinds of fixes and wasted 2 days of work to try and get this up and running properly with no success. Caution: it has a 2 year warranty but any warranty is only as good as customer service and Asus standard answer is to wipe out the hard drive and restore. Not much help. My advise if you are hot to trot on this one is:
1.Buy from Amazon
2.Fire it up and immediately check out its connect performance on the web. Do not burn any DVD's or bother with anything else.
3.Hope that I'm a rep for a competitor or a nut case and just got the odd bad machine.
As for me, once burned twice shy, I still need a big notebook-so back to the drawing board. The Zen of all this is to try not and get sucked into material attachments. See everything as already broken-not kidding!!! "The lines of life are never long when seen from end to end".
