(More customer reviews)First of all I want to say that I own a slightly more powerful version of this laptop, with a 320gb hard drive, core i5 processor and 4gb ram amongst other things. I don't know what happened to my earlier review, I actually wanted to update that one but can't find it anymore. My update is this, I still hate it, it still sucks, and still feel like smashing it up at times. There are many reasons for this. First of all, its not pleasing at all to work with. It's one of the ugliest laptops on the market and looks similar to my old dell B130, which is just as ugly but at least worked wonderfully for 4 years before I needed an upgrade. Its super thick, bulky, and heavy. The mouse pad is placed in an area that contacts your palms while typing so you are constant jumping across the screen and start typing in the wrong places (where your cursor was left last). This is especially annoying when trying to take meticulous notes in class, which is incidentally why I got this laptop in the first place and can't use any other.
The main reason however why I hate this laptop is because it malfunctions so much. The mouse constantly freezes, and the internet connection drops ALL the time. I have to put it on sleep and then reopen it to get it back. Sometimes this doesn't even work, so I have to restart the computer. When I went home to visit the connection dropped every five minutes, so I had to stop using this junker all together. Another thing that drives me nuts is its constant buzzing. It's this tiny little high pitched buzzing that you only hear when its quiet. Studying alone or in a quiet area will drive you up the wall. It sounds like some kind of electronic buzzing that constant turns on and off. Probably electrical flux, but its the only laptop iv ever had this problem with. Lastly, this computer actually "forgets" to do some of its functions. Yes, forgets! By that, I mean that sometimes when a computer is running super slow, you would expect it to catch up eventually. This computer will not. If you wanted to log on via the fingerprint reader for instance, and it hasn't loaded up onto the screen after you flip open the lid, don't expect it to! You can wait there as long as you want, it wont load. Everything else will work find though. And at other times, the fingerprint reader will load up fine but other things wont. Most of the time everything does load, but when they don't, it becomes very annoying. Oh, lastly, the touch screen is a nice feature, but you will hardly ever use it unless you really like using tablet pc's. I hardly ever touch the touch screen at all, and most others i know barely use it either.
Honestly speaking, I was quite excited to receive this laptop from my school initially. And the specs are all top of the line so I don't know why its such a terrible computer. And if you think I got a defective product, know this; most of my classmates hate this laptop as well. No one enjoys them, and they all buzz!!! I have tried several! I can only imagine how terrible this specific version on amazon that you are looking at could be, considering its not as powerful as mine in terms of specs. Do yourself a favor, go for something else. If anything, its not even worth buying such an ugly machine!! You will hate it!
